NewsTHE REGULATION ON CHANGING THE REGULATION WHICH IS ABOUT THE PRACTISE OF THE LAW ABOUT FOREIGNERS’ WORK PERMITS HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The Regulation on Changing the Regulation which is About the Practise of the Law about Foreigners Work Permits was published in the 21 January 2010 dated 27469 numbered Official Gazette and it has come into effect. According to the regulation “The applications made in the frame of the law maybe be made by using paper or the electronic environment, to the specified authority” after this has been foreseen by the regulation it also states that the work permit may be given by the Ministry by using paper or the electronic environment. Also it has been expressed that with this regulation the Turkish Missions Abroad and Ministries will run the procedures concerning the applications for work permits which are made abroad by electronic environment.

In short with this regulation about foreigners work permits it has been accepted that applications made by the electronic environment (Internet) will be acceptable.

Also in the same regulation 7th article it states that for foreigners who have been given the status of refugee or asylum-seeker the condition of duration for residency will not be necessary. The work requests of foreigners who are in this status must be finalized as soon as possible. For work permit applications made from inside the country, once the work permit is given at the latest of 30 days after the work document has been notified to the person, it is mandatory to apply to the Police in order to get a plenary residency document (meşruhatlı ikamet teskeresi). If this condition is not met then the work permit will not be valid.

With this regulation it has been decided that for document requests made to public institution and institutions a maximum of 5 days and for information and opinion requests a maximum of fifteen days will be given. The relative authority must notify the Ministry of their views at the latest of 15 days. If necessary an additional period which may not pass 15 days may be requested.
